More than 200 people have died in Helene’s path, making it one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit in the mainland U.S. since 1950.

Hurricane Helene is a significant human tragedy with more than 200 deaths reported as of Oct. 4. Thousands more have been left homeless, with North Carolina hit particularly hard. And the property damage will be difficult for the thousands of homeowners to manage without adequate flood insurance.

Hurricane Helene ravaged states in the southeast, and President Biden wants to see more disaster relief given.

The storm surge, wind damage and inland flooding from Hurricane Helene have been catastrophic, flooding neighborhoods, stranding residents, destroying homes and toppling trees in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee. Dozens have been killed.

Dolly Parton has announced she will be donating over $1 million to support those affected by Hurricane Helene. "This is my home," Parton said at a Walmart in Newport, Tennessee on Friday, according to CNN.
